Windows Printing

Printing Instructions for Windows

In building 32 all users who wish to print must be on the CSAILPrivate wireless network or wired CSAIL Ethernet. In building 45 printing is available wirelessly via MIT Secure or wired Ethernet configured on CSAIL subnet (mostly 6th and 7th floors).

The list below will show the available printers and their respective model numbers

Windows 11 printing

Windows 11 should be able to find and download the printer drivers automatically. If not

  1. Go to http://www.support.xerox.com
  2. Enter the model number of your printer in the search box and download the appropriate PS Global Print driver.
  3. Execute the .exe file and extract the PS Drivers C:\Xerox (make the folder if it isn’t present) or extract to wherever you want the driver files to be located
  4. Proceed to Adding the printer below

Adding the printer

  1. Go to “Settings” “bluetooth and devices” scroll down to and select “printers and scanners”
  2. Scroll down to “The printer that I want isn’t listed” then select “add manually” on the right
  3. Select “add a printer using an IP address or hostname”
    Device Type: autodetect
    TCP/IP: autodetect
    Hostname: Full printer hostname For example: xerox2.csail.mit.edu
    Port Name: leave blank
  4. Check box for “Query the printer and automatically” select the driver to use.
  5. If prompted, choose “Do not Share Printer”
