Known issues on 14.04LTS

  • It doesn't look like selecting a custom window manager at the login window is working. If you would like to use another window manager than XFCE, try running sudo update-alternatives --config x-window-manager and selecting your desired window manager from the list. This appears to be fixed as of 2014-08-15
  • Ctrl-space in Emacs is getting hijacked by ibus. There is a bug report in to change the default ibus keybinding to Super-space, but hasn't been merged yet. In the mean time, execute ibus exit in a terminal to get Ctrl-space back. For a more permanent solution, you can run the ibus-setup application, and change the default Ctrl-Space keybinding to something else.
