Known Issues with the 13.10 release

  • Starting with Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu includes spyware! or possibly a convenient shopping search feature. Actually our installed version doesn't, we do have some thoughts on this recent controversy if you are interested.
  • The partitioning step in the installer will fail if you have existing LVM groups. Please back up your data, and remove all disk partitions before attempting a clean install of 13.10. If you would like to upgrade from 13.04, please utilize the built-in dist-upgrade functionality in Apt, rather than the FAI installer.
  • The Shutdown/Reboot menu in the top right corner is unavailable at the login window (there's a visual glitch that causes it to appear off-screen). To reboot or shutdown, you should log into your account, and use the power-off and reboot functionality from there.
