Changing passwords, addresses, phone numbers, etc

Changing your CSAIL Kerberos password

If you have forgotten your CSAIL Kerberos (login) password, you can come by the TIG area (room 32-270 or thereabouts) during business hours with a valid photo ID and a system administrator can help you reset it.

If you already know your password and want to change it:

  • Run kpasswd on any TIG-managed CSAIL Debian or CSAIL Ubuntu machine
  • Mac OS: open Ticket Viewer.app -> "Change Password". (or kpasswd from LoginServers)
  • Windows: right-click Network Identity Manager (ice cube icon next to clock) -> "Change password." (or kpasswd from LoginServers)

Changing your CSAIL IMAP password (if applicable; see EmailTopics#CSAIL_Email_vs_MIT_Email)

Changing addresses, phone numbers, shell, etc

You can change your personal information, shell, and email forwarding using WebINQUIR. Note: CSAIL Debian workstations are synchronized with INQUIR every 15 minutes, so there will be some delay before your changes take effect.
