TIG offers computing, networking, and facilities support only. For medical, police, fire, and other life/safety issues, please contact the appropriate authorities as detailed below.
Computing/Network Related Emergencies
A pair of TIG staff members remain on-call and reachable via voice mail and pager to respond to
emergency computing/networking issues during off-business hours.
During business hours (Mon - Fri, 9 AM - 5 PM US/Eastern Time), please send emergency requests via e-mail to
help@csail.mit.edu if possible. You are also welcome to stop by our offices in
32-270 (click for a map).
Buildings/Facilities Emergencies & Urgent Audio/Visual Equipment/Conference Facilities Issues
In the event of
building/facilities emergencies such as
- leaks,
- flooding,
- strange odors and air quality issues,
- serious heating/air-conditioning, temperature issues, etc.
or
issues with audio/visual equipment or conference facilities in the Stata Center only, please
contact the on-call TIG operations staff by calling and
leaving an urgent message via voice-mail using the number below. One of the on-call staff will return your call ASAP.

When contacting us for emergencies,
please be sure to provide, wherever possible:
- Your name,
- Where and how you can be reached in response, and
- A brief description of the issue.

Office/Building Lockouts
If you are
locked out of your office or the building,
contact the Campus Police at
x3-1212 (do not call the emergency number) or the
Night Watchman at
x3-1500 to arrange them to meet you and allow access. Note that you may have to present valid MIT and/or other photo identification.
Medical/Police/Fire Emergencies & Miscellaneous Life/Safety Issues
In the event of a
medical/police/fire emergency or other life/safety issue, immediately
contact the MIT Police/Emergency Services by dialing
100 from any campus phone.
