Instructions for setting up Apple Mail
- Open the application by clicking MAIL in the dock.
- If message saying 'Would you like to import mailboxes from another account?' appears. Say "No".
* You may be asked for password. Don't enter your password yet. Say cancel.
- Go to Accounts, check and enter the following settings under the Account Information tab.
- Select Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) > Edit Server List... at the bottom of the the Account Information tab
- Input the information Account information tab of the smtp server settings.
- Input the information Advanced tab of the smtp server settings.
- Click OK
- Check and match the settings under the Advanced tab of the Accounts window.
- Click OK and save settings when asked on exiting the Mail Preferences window.
Additional notes
- If you want to use mail folders shared by other users, you will need to blank Mail -> Preferences -> Advanced -> IMAP Path Prefix (that is, remove its value). Your own mail folders will now show underneath Mailboxes -> Inbox, while shared folders will show underneath "CSAIL IMAP". If Mail suggests reverting the prefix to "INBOX", tell it "Don't Change."
- The error, "Invalid certificate while getting Email," indicates you do not have Master CA in OSX keychain. Download Master CA from CSAIL CA. Open the downloaded file, and when asked where to place the certificate select X509Anchors? (if available; "System" if not).
