Oops provides these following services to its CSAIL members.

Laser Cutter/Printer

Information

  • Saftey:
    • You must take Ron Wiken's saftey/basic maintainence and operating instruction course prior to using the laser. This takes about thirty (30) minutes.
    • You cannot cut PVC because it will ruin the laser and will cause poisonous chlorine gas to form.
  • Do's:
    • You MAY cut wood, most plastics (no pvc), rubber, leather, paper.
    • You MAY etch glass and stone.
  • Dont's:
    • You MAY NOT etch or cut metal.
    • You MAY NOT cut or etch PVC.
    • You MAY NOT change any settings

Metal Workshop

Information

  • Saftey:
    • You must see Ron Wiken for basic saftey and instructions. This can take about one (1) hour.
    • You MUST wear eye protection.
  • Rules:
    • You must clean up after yourself. This means put away your tools when finished, pickup any debris formed from you project, and report missing/broken tools to Ron Wiken.
    • DO NOT remove any tools from the machine shop. You may borrow tools from the CSAIL stock room if you need them.

Information

  • Rules:
    • Only take what you need for your project.
    • DO NOT take any drawers out of the room.
    • If you spill something, pick it up.
    • If you borrow tools, you must bring them back.
    • If you cannot find something, ask Ron Wiken.
